I bought this swing hangers because I read on a separate webpage that these would work to install in a wood if you didn't have an exposed beam or swing set. I am trying to hang a toddler swing on my porch. These require you to screw completely thru the wood and attach a bolt to the other side. That will not work for me as I cannot screw thru my porch roof.
However, if you have a swing set to attach these to, they appear to be good quality.

The photo looks like the bolt would go INTO a beam of wood. However, it is designed to go THROUGH a beam. We wanted to hang the swing from a support beam on our deck, so it won't work. Wish the photo had showed the whole mechanism.

I had bought these to add a swing disc to a wood swingset kit I put together. The bolt broke while installing, the nut was a bit tight. Return to Amazon was easy with no problems, just took a few days. Will reinstall but will probably go to store and get a slightly larger nut that will screw on easier if I have same problem with the replacement.

Please note, these hangers are designed for Swing N Slide's wooden swing sets. These work great for hanging a swing from a beam that is 5-1/2" tall (such as the 4x6 beam used on a Swing-N-Slide swingsets). They really will not work in any other application. You must be able to access the top of the beam, as the eye that you see in the picture is actually the end of a 5-1/2" long bolt that goes up through the beam, then you put a nut on the other end. Again, this product does exactly what it is designed to do for the application it was designed for! Don't give it a bad review because it's not the hanger that you need!!

As one reviewer stated this swing is setup to be installed using a cross beam. However, I removed the metal eyelet bolt and added additional rope and hung this swing from a tree with no problem. The whole neighborhood loves this swing. My only gripe is that now my beautiful lawn will never be the same. 10 kids all playing around the swing does not bode well for St. Augustine. :-)
Oh well, the kids are having fun.
