I read the bad reviews, but could not find an alternate option for storing these beautiful but unstackable puzzles. I decided to email Melissa and Doug with a list of my puzzles and asked them if they would fit. M&D got back to me promptly, and assured me the puzzles would fit. I directed them to the bad reviews and asked if they were sure that the rack would work for me and they reiterated that it would. I decided to order it, and am pleasantly surprised to say that all my puzzles fit , beautifully - chunky, peg, big knob, and even some non M&D ones. Everyone including my husband is really complimentary of the rack and how it solved a storage issue. I highly recommend it and am glad I gave it a chance.

I also have Melissa and Doug puzzles, and they do not all fit. However, I had the opposite problem from the other review -- my medium size puzzles fit in the lower racks, but my small puzzles don't fit in the top racks (they fall through). My large Melissa and Doug puzzle is too big for the rack. So disappointed. The product description should specify which size puzzles fit.

Most Melissa & Doug Puzzles like First shapes, Chunky numbers & Jumbo ABC puzzles etc.. did not fit the rack. Only the smaller sound puzzles fit the rack.

Sizes of Puzzles that fit in this puzzle rack!! Feb 11, 2011

I don't own this puzzle rack yet, but I'm ordering it today and will alter my review if necessary, but I called Melissa and Doug today and they told me the exact sizes of puzzles that this puzzle rack holds.
Small Puzzles: Up to 12x9"
Large Puzzles: Up to 18x12"
Hope this helps some of you all wondering if this rack will work or not...I will update my review when I receive the rack in a few days!
Update: The puzzles I own do indeed fit perfectly! Obviously chunky puzzles may take up more than one space, but I only have thin puzzles and they fit great! The rack appears to be very sturdy and I regularly pick it up with the puzzles in it and move it around. No bending, breaking, or signs of weakness here! Love this puzzle rack, I am *very* glad that I made the purchase!

One of the problems with Amazon marketing is the lack of product information the manufacturer puts out. The rack has limitations that are made publicly available on the Melissa and Doug product site.
The Melissa and Doug Product Information for this product says that the rack holds six small and six large puzzles, accommodates peg puzzles, sound puzzles, chunky puzzles, wooden jigsaws, touch-and-feel puzzles and 8-piece jumbo knob puzzles. Thicker puzzles may require 2 storage slots. This product is not recommended for the maze puzzles or for the 3- and 5-piece jumbo knob puzzles.
