3Painful to assemble; fun once together  Mar 25, 2011 By KristaMV
This is a cute little house, and nice especially for the price. There are lots of little features to it that my kids love.

Be very aware, however, that this is one of the more annoying toys to assemble. Let me be clear: it's not that the instructions are bad, or unclear. It's just very labor intensive to put together. How many screws do you think something like this might have? 30? Try 61. There are 7 different types of screw (was it really necessary to have 6 each of screws that are just about 2 mm different in length?) that get screwed into the molded plastic, with no pilot holes.

So, my suggestions for you are: be prepared to set aside a few hours to assemble it. DEFINITELY drill pilot holes, even though it doesn't say so anywhere in the instructions. DEFINITELY use a drill rather than just a screw driver. If you have a bad back, get someone else to put it together because you will spend all of the 2 hours hunched over this, screwing 61 little screws where probably half that would have been just fine.

I didn't give this product 1 star because at least, once it's assembled it's done and then the kids can enjoy it. However, I have never run into such an obnoxious product to assemble.

5Great Playhouse  May 17, 2010 By J. Geoghan
This is a great playhouse. My kids planted flowers and enjoy taking care of them. I love that all 3 of them can be playing at the same time w. out being in each other's way. They love being able to take the fence apart. All the neighbor kids like to come play. The only complaint I have, the center height isn't very high. My oldest(4 yr old) is tall so she has to hunch over a little, but she still loves it. My family loves this house. Very easy to put together.

5FUNNNNNNN for my toddler  May 15, 2010 By Paul Billingsly "koda5115"
We were a little worried that this playhouse would be quite small and to our surprise it is much larger than expected. It is adorable and large enough for our little one to grow and play for the years to come! It is very open so you can keep a watchful eye on your little ones. There are two planters and some handy work for them to learn and explore also! For the price this product is excellent!! Some other reviews said assembly was very difficult, However, I found it not to be difficult more time consuming than anything (About an hour). I would recommend this product to all who are interested in this playhouse. Do not think you would be disappointed at all!

4Just put it together  Feb 28, 2010 By Jo
We just put it together and it took two solid hours. I was the helper and thought it was alright, but hubby thought it was a serious pain in the bum. The roof was the hardest part of putting it together. My 2 complains are that the fences are kind of wobbly so I don't know how long they will last outside with our breezy back yard. Secondly, the "doormat" entrance or whatever that is was poorly planned. The screws don't fit perfectly so it does not hold firm, making the door "harder" for my 17 month old to open and close.
It is very cute and looks like it will give our kid hours of fun. She is excited about the phone- that has been her main play thing since we put it together- go figure.

1Horrible to put together  Jan 16, 2011 By Mauriac
This playhouse is cute. My kids enjoy playing in it, with all the different activities - stove, sink, toolchest, building the fence.

But. but, but, but. If I had to buy it over again - I wouldn't. It was horrible to put together. There was much wailing and gnashing of teeth. I have put together many things - bookcases that were supposed to require two people to put together but I did them alone; chairs; riding toys; a bike with unclear directions for four or five different kinds of bikes all mashed into one; and the list goes on. But this beat them all.

None of the holes are predrilled for the forty, fifty, however many screws they have. You're not told to predrill or what size bit to use. Four or five sizes and shapes of screws, all mixed randomly together in two little bags. The threshold was nearly impossible to screw together, and I only managed to keep the threshold on the house by sinking the screw halfway into the plastic. The roof was awful - opening the roof split the plastic down the middle and I couldn't tell by the directions whether or not that was supposed to happen. It was next to impossible to hold the two sides together enough to actually get the bolt through them both and screw the nut on. (A clamp would have been helpful). The angle was awkward to hold on to the nut and the bolt, and random bumps in the plastic seemed placed specifically so that you can turn the wrench no more than 1/8 of a turn at a time.

Finally, when all seemed done and I was overwhelmed with relief that Santa did manage to bring my kids a gift after all (only one Santa gift at our house!), I tried screwing in the large red plastic screws that the kids are supposed to be able to use to "build" the fence - but the screws wouldn't go in because the holes hadn't been formed well. I had to sand the holes down inside for them to be usable.

If it hadn't been Christmas Eve when I was assembling this, it would have gone back to the store one-tenth assembled. Never, never again will I buy anything from this brand unassembled.
